Buffalo Grove Makes Living Green Easy

Buffalo Grove Illinois

Sharron Kelley, Buffalo Grove real estate & community information

Buffalo Grove makes living green easy. One way that the Village strives to help its residents reduce their carbon footprints is by helping conserve water through the use of rain barrels. Buffalo Grove is now taking orders for rain barrels, which can help home owners in a variety of ways.

Rain barrels are used to collect rain, which can then be used to water plants and gardens. The use of rain barrels helps reduce the run off to the village’s sewer system, and reduces the water consumption of Buffalo Grove homes. Rainwater is great for plants and even better, it is free to use!

Buffalo Grove is also taking orders for composters. Composting allows organic waste to be recycled and turned into soil, which can enrich gardens and reduce garbage in landfills at the same time. Orders must be made by March 30. The rain barrels and composters will be available for pickup at Mike Rylko Community Park in Buffalo Grove on April 7th, from 8 to 11 am.
